PostSecret

Every Sunday morning for the past two years, with rare exception, I have started my morning with a cup of coffee and PostSecret.com. It is an internet art phenomenon that started with a man named Frank asking people to mail him anonymous secrets on a postcard. The idea was that on a postcard your secrets are laid bare for anyone to see but through the magic of anonymity you were safe from ownership. Frank quickly took his project to the internet where he posted 20 new secrets every Sunday morning. Secrets range from the dreadfully serious to the absurd. It's fascinating. He has received tens of thousands of secrets, if not more. He has published 3 books and has a rigorous lecture circuit he now travels (if you look hard enough, you might find my secret in the first PostSecret book). Anyway, I mention it this morning because today, instead of posting 20 new secrets as he always does, Frank has made a video of secrets and asked that people might consider putting it on their sites. I think this is a wonderful project, both for those who need to scream out loud and for those who just need to see that they aren't the only ones. Give the video a look-see and then check out the site at www.postsecret.com. Have a good day, everyone.
